Key Alliance Group Bhd’s (KAG) subsidiary, Progenet Innovations Sdn Bhd, targets to be the first end-to-end (E2E) cloud service provider in the country by next year, with the establishment of its data centre as well as cloud services.
The data center at Menara Lien Hoe, Petaling Jaya, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of next year.
The company also launched its new cloud services, Progenet Cloud yesterday.
Progenet MD Reuben Gerard Paul said having its own building that serves as the center will definitely benefit clients than other providers.
“Basically, we will provide full transparency across the board for our clients — from the infrastructure that we are hosting on and the virtual server that they buy from us.
“We will provide a full monitoring system from the infrastructure right up to the virtual server. Our cloud service platform is built on the enterprise platform, that is specifically targeted for mission-critical applications, such as financial application,” Paul said during the launch.
Through this platform, KAG has refined and corporatized its approach towards its clients, to offer higher levels of services; better disaster recovery options; innovative solutions for cloud computing and storage, cloud access security broker options; and bespoke integration designs.
KAG’s modern data center is designed for high-density web-scale infrastructure, allowing it to build its own public and private cloud, as well as support private enterprises in their cloud systems.
The facility also comes with the latest data center infrastructure solution, allowing for the efficient management of information technology assists, reducing risk and increasing efficiency.
The data center will be powered by Vertiv (M) Sdn Bhd — formerly Emerson Network Power (M) Sdn Bhd — which will be providing KAG with the SmartAisleTM, a fully integrated, row-based enclosure system that combines racks, power, cooling and infrastructure management into a holistic data center solution.
Meanwhile, KAG MD Roy Ho Yew Kee said the completion of the data center will provide the company with additional supply space, which is expected to contribute positively to the growth of the company once completed.
At present, the company has three regional data centers located in CX2, Cyberjaya; Menara AIMS, Kuala Lumpur; and Equinix, Singapore.
“Our profit is depending on how much capacity we are going to use for the cloud, and it is too early to give a specific number as it takes two to three years for the cloud to reach its full capacity.
“Currently, we have 20 enterprises for our established data centers. We expect this number to increase once our data center is completed,” Ho said.
